Injury Policy
Purpose
This policy outlines procedures for managing injuries sustained by members and guests while on Elmdale Tennis Club premises. It ensures member well-being and safety while maintaining a safe and functional environment.
Reporting an Injury
- Any injury sustained on club premises must be reported immediately to club staff or management or reported by email to info@elmdale.ca
- Club staff will complete a City of Ottawa incident report form detailing the injury circumstances.
- The club will assist in contacting emergency services (i.e., calling 9-1-1) if urgent medical attention is required for the injured individual.
Playing Safely and Reporting Hazards
- Members are responsible for taking reasonable precautions for their safety and the safety of others, including:
- Staying aware of physical limits.
- Using proper equipment.
- Following club safety guidelines and rules.
- Members should report hazards or unsafe conditions to club staff immediately.
- Members recovering from injuries should consult a healthcare professional and return to play when deemed safe to do so.
- Members are responsible for taking reasonable precautions for their safety and the safety of others, including:
Medical Membership Holds – Temporary Leave
- Members injured who cannot play, for a full season or partial season may request to place their membership on hold.
- Full season leave up until July 1st. A full membership leave is granted, and the membership is filled from the next available person on the waitlist. Prorated fees are e-transferred from the new member to the member on Temporary Leave
- Partial membership leaves after July 1st can be requested until September 1 and must be backfilled from the waitlist.
- Refunds will not be granted after September 1.
- Requests will be reviewed case-by-case by club management.
- Members on Temporary Leave will be eligible to renew their membership the following year.
- Members injured who cannot play, for a full season or partial season may request to place their membership on hold.
Club Support
- The club will maintain facilities in safe condition and ensure hazards are addressed promptly.

- Monday-Friday 7:00am to 11:00pm
- Saturday-Sunday 7:00am to 10:00pm
Fall Hours
September – Close
- Monday-Friday 8:00am-11:00pm
- Saturday-Sunday 8:00am-10:00pm
